Who collects?

Texaid, Tell-Tex, Caritas and other companies.

They sort your clothes donations and make them available for re-use.

Donation is being done for humanitarian aid as well as for disadvantaged people in 🇨🇭 and abroad (particularly in Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa and the Middle East).

Or the clothes are sold and processed to fund projects of charitable organizations in Switzerland, and thus makes a considerable social contribution.


What Is Collected?

- Women's, men’s & children’s clothing

- Shoes, bundled in pairs

- Household linen, bathroom linen, bed linen

- Underwear & socks

- Bedding

Everything clean in tear-resistant plastic bags closed securely with a tie.


Additionally, Texaid collects:

- Leather clothing and furs

- Belts and bags

- Down quilts and pillows

Where to drop?

Collection containers, in-shop and door-to-door collections (in some municipalities) throughout Switzerland.

The necessary information and a collection bag are sent out by post well in advance of the collection date.

♻️ RECYCLING/DISPOSAL


Collection organizations or specialized facilities sort the collected used clothes by hand.

The used clothing that cannot be worn again is used to make cleaning rags or as raw materials for recycling fibers or filler or insulating materials.

Only a small proportion is waste that can be disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
